How it’s already the end of August is beyond me. But as soon as Southern students started heading back to school, slowly but surely I saw the Halloween decoration pop up first, followed by summer clearance sales and then of course the release of pumpkin spice everything. Literally everything.
So what’s a Southern (or, OK, a girl living in the South) to do when the temps are still reaching a heat index of 100* each day?! Here’s how I transition to fall:
- I wear whatever I want, when I want. π And I don’t listen to old wive’s tales about “not wearing white after Labor Day,” etc.
- I do LOVE fall clothes though, so I start to phase out the brights in September or so and transition into warmer tones.
- I choose breathable fabrics and shy away from sweaters, jeans or anything else that is hot as hell
Y’all know how much I love jumpsuits, so this find from Charleston local boutique, Bashful, gives me allllll the heart eyes. It’s breathable, a super cute pattern and every time I wear it, I get compliments (always a perk, right?).
Here’s a closer look:

Tell me: are you ready for fall? Or wishing summer could last forever?
Ashley, i absolutely love this jumpsuit! I totally agree about transitioning in the fall in the south. You must visit the mountains though to escape that low country heat some.
